The estate agent dragged himself inside but collapsed in a pool of blood and died in hospital. Student pal Ben Barker, 22, was stabbed four times in the back but is expected to make a full recovery.

Cops are hunting two men after the early-hours attack outside The Bell nightspot.

George’s friends say the culprits were local, although officers believe they may be from oversees.

One pal, who asked not to be named, told The Sun: “George got into an argument with some locals.

“These Cypriot guys were disrespecting and harassing an English girl, apparently.

“George and his mates stepped in and said, ‘That’s enough.’ There were two guys who took off and they returned 20 minutes later with a knife. It all happened so suddenly.”

George, of Dartford, Kent, spent the past two summer seasons working as a club rep in the resort.

He was on holiday for a week with Ben, who is at Aston University in Birmingham, and they had been due to fly home yesterday.

Last night George’s tearful mum Helen, 47, a community carer, said: “I keep thinking I’m going to wake up out of this nightmare and I’d have my boy back.

“He was a lovely young man. George was the kind of person that would help out a girl if she was in trouble.”

George’s postman dad Martyn, 55, added: “You could go anywhere and people would tell you how much they loved him.

“He was very popular out there too. They used to call him the Adonis because he was good looking.”

As tributes to him poured in on Facebook, Andzelika Angel, who worked with him at London estate agent Acorn, said “top guy” George had recently been voted “agent of the week”.

Niamh Rose wrote on Facebook: “Still struggling to process this, rest in peace George Low you’ve touched the lives of so many my thoughts go out to your family.”

Abbie Routledge commented: “Wow, this is so upsetting, hope all the Napa family are OK.”

Becky Aspinall added: “Feel so sick, one of the worst things I’ve ever heard. Was the cheekiest, funniest character in Napa. RIP.”

Brad Gresham added: “A true Napa cult hero taken so early, that place seriously has lost one of the strongest characters from the past few years, only one gorgeous George Low. R.I.P. bud.”

Jason Woods said: “Words can’t describe what you mean to me. I was lucky to have you as a brother and I am truly heartbroken by this tragedy!!

“Just looking back at the first time we met and I was lucky enough to meet one of the best guys in my life. Love you so much. RIP George Low.”

Elliot White added: “Makes you think about taking your life for granted. RIP brother.”
